9. Corona del Mar-Newport Harbor (Battle of the Bay nonleague)
Corona del Mar d. Newport Harbor 25-22, 27-29, 25-23, 31-33, 15-11
Corona del Mar coach Steve Conti said time and time again the Sea Kings’ victory over Newport Harbor to end the season was instrumental in the team winning CIF and Regionals. And look at the scores again. The middle three games were unbelievable. It might even belong higher on the list. Anyway, who really knew at the time Corona del Mar would come away thinking Ain’t No Stopping Us Now.
